Needs of Foster Children

Young woman in library What Do Therapeutic Foster Kids Need?

Many of First Home Care's foster children have experienced traumatic or abusive situations and may have emotional/behavioral issues as a result. Some children may have engaged in delinquent behaviors. All children require the safety and stability of a nurturing and caring home to grow and flourish. Each child is unique in what their needs may be. Children and youth placed in treatment foster homes present a variety of special needs:

  • Psychological
  • Emotional
  • Behavioral
  • Social
  • Educational
  • Criminal
  • Various types of sexual dysfunction
  • Teenage pregnancy and parenting
  • Medical
  • Substance abuse

We provide our children with treatment services in the least restrictive and most normalized environment.
